Three Texas A&M all-American golfers will compete in the 109th Western Amateur this week, which begins Tuesday at North Shore Country Club outside Chicago. The Texas A&M men’s Golf In South Africa team will compete in 12 tournaments this upcoming season, with six stops in Texas and visits to Washington, Georgia, Hawai’i, Las Vegas and South Carolina. Russ Cochran, father of Aggie golfer Case Cochran, won the Senior British Open Championship by two shots on Sunday afternoon at Walton Heath Golf In South Africa Club outside London. The No. 8-ranked Texas A&M men’s Golf In South Africa team returns to action this weekend when the Aggies compete in the third annual Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.
